EGYPT: March- 2013. Dashur. Pyramid-Satellite of the Bent Pyramid of Sneferu..
The Pyramid-Satellite of the Bent Pyramid of Sneferu, is located 55 metres to the south of the Bent Pyramid. According to the legends, told us by the local rangers of Dashur, the Pyramid-Satellite has an underground tunnel, connecting it with the Bent Pyramid of Sneferu. At the moment we can not make any definite conclusion, concerning this tunnel, but a small shaft in the "Burial Chamber" of the Satellite Pyramid has no solid floor. The bottom of the shaft represents a soft soil of dust and sand. Where is the floor masonry? Why does it absent? What's under the sand? The question remains open for future research.

EGYPT: March- 2013. Saqqara. The Pyramid of Djoser.
The Step Pyramid of Djoser is the core of the ancient Saqqara complex. The Pyramid of Djoser is considered to be the first Pyramid in the history of mankind. The internal structure of the Pyramid of Djoser represents a vertical 30 meters Shaft, punched deep into the bedrock. The Shaft has a rectangular section - 10 x 12 meters. Dozens of tunnels, coming from different directions and at the different levels can be seen on the walls of this Shaft. At the bottom of the Shaft, there is a structure of black granite blocks, which occupies almost the entire area of the Shaft basement. This structure is considered to be the external sarcophagus of the King Djoser.

EGYPT: March- 2013. Saqqara. The Pyramid of Djedkara.
The Pyramid of Djedkara is located in South Saqqara. Its original height was 52.5 meters and basement perimeter - 78.75x78.75 meters. The slope of the sides makes 52 degrees. Now the Pyramid is badly damaged and its height makes only 25 meters. The pyramid was discovered by the French Egyptologist Gaston Maspero in 1880. In the early forties of the XX century, the excavations here were made by the Egyptian archaeologist Abdel Salam Hussein. Read more >>

| EGYPT: March- 2013. Saqqara. The Persian Tombs.
During March-2013 expedition, our group was lucky to visit the complex of tombs, known in Egyptology as the "Persian Tombs."
All three tombs were discovered by the Italian Egyptologist Alessandro Barsanti in the early 20th century, during his archaeological works around the Pyramid of Unas in Saqqara.
This underground structure represents the three vertical shafts with the section of 8 x 10 meters and 23-27 meters depth. Each shaft has a "satellite" shaft with a smaller section - 1.5 x 1.5 meter. These "satellite" shafts are connected to the main shaft by the horizontal passages, located on the bottom of each shaft.
