The territory of Abydos, one of the oldest cities of ancient Egypt, is located in 160 kilometers north of Luxor. The history of this place goes back in time for the thousands of years, down to the very beginning of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization. The Pharaohs of the Early Dynasties were honored to be buried here, in the place of the sacred center of Osiris worship .
