Eastern Wing of the Gallery

The detailed information on each sarcophagus, located in the Western Wing of the Serapeum Gallery was given in the report "Egypt. December-2012", and "Egypt. March-2013".

During the expedition "Egypt. November-December-2013" some of the sarcofagus from the Western Wing of the Gallery were measured and the information was published in an article "Measurements of the Serapeum Sarcophagi", written by Alexander Puchkov. Also, a study of the Eastern Wing was made. At the moment, all entrances to the North Wing are walled, because of the collapse of its vaults. (In the diagram, the Eastern Wing is highlighted purple).

The last photo of the last row shows a brick wall behind the sarcophagus, separating this section of the structure from the Northern Gallery. As mentioned at the beginning of the report, the Serapeum Northern rooms are heavily damaged and require serious archaeological and restoration work.
