The Pyramid of Menkaura

The Pyramid of Menkaure - is the third largest Pyramid of megalithic Complex of Giza. It was studied in the XIX century, by the famous British researchers - John Perring and Colonel Howard Vyse. The Entrance to the Pyramid was found in 1837.

The perimeter of the Pyramid - 102,2 × 104,6 m
Height (original) - 65.55 m
Height (today) - 62 m
The slope of the sides - 51.20 degrees

The granite casing of the bottom masonry of the Pyramid, has survived only on the north and on the east side of the Pyramid.

The Upper Pyramid Temple, the limestone ruins of which are damaged by the strong erosion, hides in itself the two rows of granite blocks of unknown purposes. These strange artifacts are not fitting into the architecture of the Temple. The limestone megalithic blocks of the Temple masonry are encircling the rows of these granit blocks from all their sides. What is that? That is the question....

The last two pictures of the previous row and the pictures of the row below are showing the connecting of the Temple masonry with the Pyramid granit casing.

As it seen, the limestone blocks and floor masonry of the Temple just closely abutted to the original Pyramid casing masonry. No any constraction elements of stiff ligaments of the Pyramid and Temple is seen.

On the south side of the Pyramid of Menkaure there are three Pyramids-Satellites (G3a, G3b, G3c).

(G3a)

Eastern.

Height - 10 m
Perimeter - 36x36 m
Slope of the sides - 55.5 degrees.
Slope of the descending passage - 27.9 degrees.
Descending Passage width - 1.07 m

(G3b)

Central.

Height - 9 m
Perimeter - 36x36 m
Type - step pyramid

(G3c)

Lets note, that the Pyramid (G3a), differs from the step Pyramid G3b and G3s by its pyramid shape and has granit casing blocks over its bottom row.
